Ginger Smudge, Unique and Original
Ginger Smudge expresses abstract concepts with fun images and descriptions
that appeal to children (adults like him too!).
Although he is strictly non-denominational, his philosophy is based
loosely on Tibetan Buddhist ideas about mind, consciousness,
and the nature of existence.
The colour world of Ginger Smudge is related to the five Buddha colours,
which are prevalent in many Tibetan texts and alluded to in the Bardo Thodel
(The Tibetan Book of the Dead). These colours are related to certain mind
states both negative and positive.
It's not necessary for children to know about this though,
to enjoy the books. And the nonsense word play used in many
stories actually has serious meaning as the books advance.
But Ginger Smudge is more than just a story about how to use mind energy.
It's a story about opening one's heart to universal compassion.
It's a spiritual work that starts as a psychic journey,
through fun and exciting adventures!
